Mahindra Foundation in USA was set up in 2007 as a Delaware Non-profit corporation. The objective of Mahindra Foundation, as stated in its Certificate of Incorporation, is as follows:
“The Corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific or educational purposes only. No part of its earnings shall inure to the benefit of any member or officer; nor shall any substantial part of its activities consist in carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation; nor shall the Board of Directors of the Corporation participate or intervene in (including the publishing or distribution of statements) any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.”
The registered office of Mahindra Foundation in USA is at 1000 West Street, 17 th floor, The Brandywine Building, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware – 19801. YCS&T are registered agents for the Foundation.
Mahindra Foundation is a Section 501 (c) (3) organization under the US Internal Revenue Code with Tax ID # 20-8105205. Therefore all donations to the organisation are exempt from taxation.
Mahindra Foundation provides a platform to US residents to support the education of underprivileged girls in India through Project Nanhi Kali. Project Nanhi Kali is jointly managed by the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust and Naandi Foundation.
'Nanhi Kali' or 'a little bud' aims to provide educational support to underprivileged girls.
